This Peony plant was the first plant given to me when I began my garden here in 2007 and last week it flowered for the first time. It is very beautiful. Not far from Viterbo is a peony farm – I wouldn’t call it a nursery because they don’t grow the plants just to sell but also produce cosmetics from the roots. They have tree and herbaceous peonies, click here to see which were in flower on Saturday.
O to live near a peony farm! They are gorgeous. I have seen some tempting plants, but like you, I love the single ones.
The really sad thing is that the flowers only last a week even in perfect conditions.
Chris, is that the half dead plant I brought you?
Yes, it looks really healthy at the moment, I think in other years it has had too much water during the summer, it doesn’t like humidity around the foliage. I will move the irrigation tubes and only give it water when it is dry.
Thank you for the slideshow of peony flowers, expertly portrayed. Among all the others, they are extraordinary, too. — The Healing Garden gardener
