Wordless Wednesday

What's this on the wild rucola (rocket)?

Don’t forget Foliage day Thursday 22nd September, I hope lots of you will join in.  If you don’t have time ton Thursday try and add something over the next week.

  1. Christina I might help you and you might help me! I think this is ‘una cimice’, a bug actually, the one you normally see green or maroon and it’s very stinky. What do you call it in English?! I have a kind of invasion here, especially around tomatoes, that’s why I had to get rid of them. This one in the picture is still a growing one. It’s a kind of teenager bug around your rocket… I hope it’s not having hormonal issues too…

    • Thanks Alberto, una cimice is a shield bug in English. I have lots of the green ones and they try to come into the house to hibernate at this time of year – I hate the way they smell. All the ones on the rocket were coloured like this! I didn’t think of them being shield bugs, oh nooooooooooo! Christina
