    • Hi Linda, here the beauty of the headheads is really only just beginning, although some of these Asclepias tuberosa had seeds a while ago and I have already collected the seed and have small, very small plants already. Christina

    • It will be fun to see what everyone has in the way of seedheads. I know that in the UK some things get soggy quite early on, but others will look great all winter. Christina

  1. Beautiful seeds of Butterfly Weed (Milkweed), though how such a wonderful plant could be called a weed, I don’t understand! It’s fascinating how each seed has its own little parachute to help it float to a suitable spot to grow.
    I imagine you had lots of butterflies visiting these plants when they were in bloom.
    I don’t know why, but when I was a child, we called the seed heads Johnny Pods.

  2. Hahahah…I just did a seed head post today as well! Love your pics…so many wonderful seed heads…so much great variety. I love those Asclepias pods…so cool…and I just adore Phlomis…so striking!
