ID Please

A friend gave me a cutting of a prunus she had; I think even she wasn’t really sure of the name.  Any help with the identification will be gratefully received.

For such a small plant it has a significant amount of flowers.

Thank you for your help

  1. It looks like a flowering almond from here. It comes in a bush form (Prunus glandulosa ‘Rosea Plena’ (syn. ‘Sinensis’)) and a tree form (Prunus triloba var. multiplex).

Pretty in the spring time! I love the idea used by Christopher Lloyd of planting the bush variety with a dainty Narcissus (like N. Hawera) for a combination.

    Hope that helps!

    • Very helpful, thank you Julie, Narcissus wouldn’t work here and the Muscari are also finishing, maybe there is a small tulip of a suitable colour, I’ll check. Christina
