Oh yes. It came! Five minutes after this I was trying to close the shutters on an upstairs window and the wind was so strong and the rain so drenching that all I succeeded in doing was getting absolutely soaked within probably less than a minute. But it didn’t last very long. Rome had been threatened with flooding of the underground etc. as in last year’s autumn rain but although there was more rain in Rome it wasn’t actually flooded. Christina
Looks stunning, Christine – is that Perovskia in the first shot? Photos of you soaked whilst trying to close the shutters would be welcome too though. Dave
Hello again, Christina 🙂 Oh my, if my colours were singing this morning – yours are the choir! I love the mood of the dark, threatening sky on your (compared to mine) dusky and light garden… quite beautiful 😀
But did it come, or did it pass you by as ours sometimes does!

Scrumptious views. You have wonderful balance of texture and color. Despite the impending storm it feels so serene.
Thank you, I think extreme conditions do show very well how texture is working in the garden. Christina
Your garden looks fabulous against that angry sky…a real soaker.
Every time I see pictures of your formal garden it takes my breath away! Looks like it is healthy and enjoying the rain, eh?!
You can’t see the spaces left by the 8 or 9 lavender that died this summer; mostly the adjacent plants will fill the spaces left I hope. Christina
Looks beautiful with the storm threatening.
It shows up the colours in the garden to spectacular effect.

Sorry David, candid shots are censored! I was terrified as the laptop also got spayed with water, luckily I was in the way! Christina
Oh, and yes it’s Perovskia in the formal beds. Christina
