This is just a taste of the wild flowers I want to share with you that we saw on Monte Sibillini last weekend. I need to do some work to identify all the orchids we saw, if I can.
Yes, but don’t you think a garden is different. This place was wonderful, but only for now, maybe a few short weeks and after that nothing; we want more from our gardens than that. This is an inspiration and we can learn which plants grow naturally together but after that it is down to us.
What a beautiful place, I have read about the national park there and its somewhere we would very much like to visit one day.
You’d love it Julie, I wrote last year about the lentil fields at Casteluccio ( https://myhesperidesgarden.wordpress.com/2013/07/15/visiting-the-lentil-fields-at-casteluccio/ ) but the other side of the mountain where we went this time was amazing. There’s a great restaurant too!
So lovely!!
Sure is!
I think I’d like it there Christina! 🙂
I’m sure you would Cathy!
What a wonderful sight. to see so many wild flowers is wonderful!
I’ve never seen anything like it before.
Nature sets a good example.
Right plants – right position, all we need to know really.
Wonderful. I’ d be in heaven. Absolutely beautiful.
Just wait until I manage to post about the rest! You would adore it there and there’s great walking for you know who!
What beautiful nature you seem to have all around you!
The mountains aren’t near, it was a three and a half hour drive away; but worth it.
ah how wonderful it is to see drifts of wild orchids. Nothing beats that!
True!
Lovely delicate shades, Christina
Nature comes up with all the best colour combinations. Beautiful.
I see wonderful places like that. where Mom Nature was the designer, and wonder why I even try. Not that that stops me.

Oh I’m a sucker for wild flowers. Beautiful!
They were very beautiful!
Very beautiful, but I must say I recognize very few of these. Is that big shrubby one borage?
I did see borage growing. Do you have orchids in your part if the States?
Pretty rare in this immediate area, in wooded areas further north you can find orchids called lady slippers.
there are lady slippers in the UK too, I still have managed to ID most of the orchids we saw, I’ll just post them anyway.
