Wordless Wednesday – Leeks

There was a whole field as far as the eye could see!

I think I should find somewhere to grow some

I think I should find somewhere to grow some for the flowers

Leeks

Leeks

Obviously sad for the farmer who didn’t manage to harvest these, but it was a wonderful sight when I was on my way to the sea on Friday.  Sorry, I know it should be wordless!

  1. That’s quite a nice view. You have a knack for photographing lovely fields of flowers. (I had planned to make a wordless post today, but had too much to say in the end.)

  2. They do produce some beautiful flowers Christina as do many other vegetables. As you suggest though what a shame that the crop went unpicked. How do Italians like their leeks?

    • Leeks aren’t common in Italian cookery although I do see them for sale sometimes but not always. It was a huge field so would have been thousands of leeks.
