April 15th 2016 The season moves on

The season is racing ahead.  Yesterday there was just one variety of bearded iris flowering, already today there are three!

Cistus are flowering too.

But before I rush forever forward towards summer; I wanted to the share the the remaining tulips which have given me so much pleasure this year.

All the images of tulips were taken within the last week and most are still looking as good today.

The Sedum foliage is a great compliment to the tulip.  If anyone knows the name of the above do let me know.

    • It’s very warm rather than hot, low to mid 20’s C during the day but cool in the evenings. A little to cold at night for the tomatoes to go out, if temperatures are below about 8 degrees it can stop them growing

  1. Tulips and iris in bloom together – how glorious! Are those native irises the species I. germanica? Afraid I don’t know much about the wild irises there… They seem quite large-flowered!

  3. April really is a fabulous month in your garden Christina. So lovely to see all your daily posts. The spring walk is still looking gorgeous. 🙂

  4. Lovely Christina….I really love the Spring Walk with all the tulips that return there. And then that view with the wisteria and tulips really took my breath away. Of course I didn’t think you could beat that, but seeing a bank of irises will do it for me!

  5. What a beautiful combination for the pretty woman tulips and the stems of the euphorbia, I like it!
The iris of course are fantastic as well. Nice to have them there taking care of themselves.

  6. We have many of the same flowers, but out of sequence with yours: Cistus a long way from blooming, tulips long over and Iris just coming on. Kinda goes against logic, wouldn’t you say?
