Poppies were often seen like this in the past, much less so now because of the use of herbicides; we are lucky that they aren’t used so much in our area.
This view is spectacular, Christina! You might remember how much I adore the poppies views you have shared. And with such inspiring views, I have planted some again this year in my cutting bed. I hope in the future to scatter them yearly in an area and watch them grow.
Christina preciosos Olivos enmarcando un precioso paisaje. Muchas gracias por mostrar la Naturaleza. Saludos de Margarita. margarita141.
I live in Puglia and we too have loads of poppies growing this time of year
Puglia is a beautiful region, which towns are you near?
I would love to see that!
They are something I look forward to every year
Beautiful sight.
I always love seeing them. It was such a rare sight in England.
Rare here as well. Garden centers carry a few because people ask for them but staff warned me it was too humid.
You don’t see poppies any more in the UK because the farmers use so much herbicide; they used to be a common sight there too.
Oh, that is lovely.
I never fail to be excited by seeing them
utter perfection!
An example of something that looks so natural is actually the result of mans interference
Wow! I finally saw the first California poppy bud here this afternoon – just one, that’s it!
My California poppies were flowering in the garden before the red poppies, now there is a mix.
A field of poppies means summer is not far off. Amelia
They are something else that are a couple of weeks early this year
Beautiful. I am looking forward to seeing those too.
Fabulous! Last fall I planted some orange poppies given to me by a friend – can’t wait to see them bloom.
What variety of poppies? There are so many; they’re all lovely.
What a wonderful sight. Gorgeous!
A field of poppies is an amazing, glorious sight. Thank you for sharing them with us!
It is one of the joys of living in a place where the farmers use little or no herbicide.
Your beautiful view reminded me of Monet’s painting, Les Coquelicots (http://www.grandspeintres.com/monet/tableau.php?tableau=coquelicots&id_peintre=1)

Just stunning, Christina, you can’t beat such a sight 🙂
I love it every time I see a field of poppies.

A beautiful sight indeed and a pleasure one would never tire of
So exciting to see wildflowers en masse.
Mass planting is the way to go!
