Monday spurs us on to find flowers in our gardens to plonk in a vase (or arrange tastefully depending on mood or time available) to share with Cathy at Rambling in the garden and other participants in this very popular meme.
I have a blue Denby jug which I like to use with yellow daffodils and bright happy sunflowers when in season. This year my yellow daffodils failed to bloom so I will have to be content with very pale cream and white Narcissus instead!
All the tulips in the garden seem to be flowering together; even T. Ballerina which is usually one of the later ones to flower is blooming now. Many of the tulips that were planted after being used as cut flowers last year and the year before are growing well despite being cut very low on their stems and therefore with very little leaf to give them sustenance to feed the bulb.
These Tulip ‘Akebono’ were planted in autumn 2015 and are a full double yellow with a red edge to the petals and a green line to the centre of the outer petals.
There were 50 planted in the woodland walk border so my vase left hardly a gap.
Hope you all have a lovely week. Thank you Cathy for hosting.
