Continuing with our walk around my springtime garden.
Yesterday morning the light was very bright and shining through some of the foliage in a rather delightful way. Continue reading
Again this week the weather has been weird. Monday was not cold and there was some sun during the day but as soon as it was dark, the heavens opened with thunder, heavy rain and both sheet and forked lightening. This was followed on Tuesday by the perfect day, very warm, very possibly 20°C, sun and no wind all day. That evening I turned the heating off, it had only been on a few days as it was. Then came Wednesday! I was woken by the sound of the wind blowing, howling, it was throwing our very heavy outside chairs to the ground. A lot more leaves have come down whether they were ready or not. Plus there was more rain until about 4pm when the sun came out, so I rushed to take some photographs as the forecast for today was much the same as yesterday , but in fact it has been grey, mild and as I write now at 4pm is foggy in the distance. Having been away for the best part of a week followed by a busy weekend this post has to be a catch up on what I missed.
So I’ll begin with the long view, linking with Heather at Xeric Style. Lots of colour from the Eschscholzia californica and Cistus in today’s view from the top room window.

Today is the day Heather at Xeric Style posts about the Long View. Why not join in you oly need one image showing a wide or long view that you will show each month.
I find these posts far more interesting than ones about individual flowers as a garden is more than the sum of its parts!
The long view with just a glimpse of the Wisteria which is flowering now.
Zomming in to see the detail in the crimson zone actually just to the left of the wide view today
As I was leaning out of the window to take today’s images, solitary bees were buzzing loudly trying to find homes in the warm tuffo wall.

The first of March is wet and there’s a cold wind so I was happy that I only needed to climb the stairs to the top of the house to take the images for today’s Long View. Continue reading
