Well, I’m posting on Tuesday but the photographs were all taken yesterday morning. Continue reading

Tuesday View 28th November 2017 plus a few frosty plants
The promised frost arrived during the night. I awoke to a sparkling, frosty garden. Continue reading
Tuesday View – 21st November 2017
Time to join Cathy at Words and Herbs for her weekly look at one view in the garden. I think Cathy will be doing a round up of her view this year; I’ll save my review for another occasion, when the trees have all lost their leaves. Continue reading
Tuesday View – a little touch of autumn 31st October 2017
The weather has changed; there is now only a few hours in the afternoon when it is warm and pleasant; in the mornings there is a nip in the air. The light has changed. There is even a little autumn colour in the garden caused by the warmish days and cold nights. Continue reading
Tuesday View 10th October 2017
The overall view hasn’t changed much but I have begun moving plants out of the bed and finding them new homes (that takes more time than planting new plants.

I planted some of the Teucrium that I removed under the Quercus ilex in the clipped shrub border, and some was put on the Slope

Newly planted area of the bed with Lavenders and Santolina grown from cuttings plus some Irises. I know they look very small and insignificant now but they’ll soon grow

Salvia ‘Indigo Spires’ is flowering too well to be moved. The cuttings I took last month have all rooted and some are forming flowering stems, which I am removing
As there isn’t very much to show in the weekly view I thought I’d share with you some of the other views I’m enjoying this week and show you some of the dishes I’m making with the produce from the garden.

I’ve been using the pomegranates I showed you last week in this delicious salad by Ottolenghi using celery and pearl barley

I also harvested all my quinces and made Membrillo for the first time. It is delicious but I have my doubts about how long it will last
I’m not sure if Cathy at Words and Herbs is posting her view this week but it would be worth checking as she has some great autumn colour from her Acer.
Tuesday View 3rd October 2017
Cathy at Words and Herbs is a day late posting her weekly meme; I’m late posting too, but the images were taken yesterday (Tuesday) so I am entitled to call it my Tuesday view. Continue reading
Tuesday View – beginning a new ‘view’
Cathy at Words and Herbs asks us to join her by posting one view each week so we can assess progress through the year. Since she started the meme I’ve been posting a view of the Large Island looking towards the drive; however as that includes many evergreens the view doesn’t change as much as some other parts of the garden, so I’ve decided that as I will be working on improving the Left side border this winter it would be a better choice to share with you each week. Continue reading
Tuesday view 5th September 2017
OK, I know that it is Thursday today but I did take the photographs on Tuesday so it is the Tuesday view of the garden. I’m sure Cathy at Words and Herbs will forgive me. Continue reading
Tuesday View – 29th August 2017
Just when I was beginning to think that autumn was arriving and that the temperatures were dropping Italy has again been in the clutches of a hot cyclone from Africa bringing hot winds that feel as if a hairdryer is being into your face when you step out of the door.
The temperatures have hovered around 35°C since last Friday and aren’t set to drop until Thursday or Friday when thunderstorms are predicted. Continue reading
Tuesday View – on Thursday this week
Tuesday I was hosting GBFD so didn’t post my Tuesday view to share with Cathy at Herbs and Words; but I didn’t want to miss a second week in a row so here’s my view today. Continue reading
