When I returned home after our time in England I was surprised to discover just how hardy all the Anemone coronaria are; there had been sub zero temperatures almost every night were away (which has continued all the past week too with an incredible minus 8°C forecast for Saturday). The Spring walk at the end of February
I have begun to check out the Spring Walk in the hope of seeing some spring flowers beginning. At present I can’t see any tulip shoots pushing up and as I mentioned before I have seen some evidence of mice but I can’t imagine they’re eaten them all can they? Continue reading

A windy week has torn the petals from some of the tulips but other have withstood the wind and are continuing to lure me into the garden to enjoy more mixed colour than I’ve ever used before. Continue reading
