I am home after an amazing three weeks travelling in the US; I have to admit that I’m quite tired and would enjoy a few days total rest after travelling so much, I must be getting old! It is lovely to be home and joining with Cathy at Rambling in the garden to share a vase of flowers picked early this morning from the garden.
I returned to a huge amount of blooms in the cutting-flower beds; my instructions to those caring for the garden while I was away to pick EVERYTHING possible was followed so that new blooms are continuing to be produced. It was so hard to choose what to pick today so I decided to pick one colour range – orange! Continue reading
It is the first of December but if you walked around my garden today you would be forgiven for thinking that it was spring. The temperatures in the last week have risen considerable to those of only a few weeks ago. Last night the minimum temperature was 15°C, and that was the daytime high a couple of weeks ago, during the day we are back to the low 20’s°C. Today is miserable, with rain and dark skies; I had to dodge the showers to pick flowers for today’s vase. I had intended to include a hand tied bunch of flowers I gave to a friend yesterday who had invited us for a wonderful meal of food from her homeland of Cyprus. But the rushed photographs looked a complete mess even though I was quite happy with the bouquet itself. The Zinnia I included had come from my friend so it seemed fitting that she should have the last one in her bouquet. Continue reading
