In a vase on Monday – a little bit of this and a little bit of that

This past weekend has been glorious; sunshine that was actually warm; too hot for a fleece!  I weeded and tidied the evergreen shrub beds and while doing so discovered the shoots of tulips pushing through the earth.  I think the tulips in the garden will flower earlier this year because they have had their period of chilling before Christmas rather than having to wait for January and February.  But sadly no tulips yet for my vase although next week – maybe. It feels good to be back posting a vase on Monday for Cathy at Rambling in the Garden.  Today my vase has turned out to be an homage to my fellow bloggers who have inspired and encouraged me with growing flowers to cut for the house and/or have been generous enough to share plants with me.  So this is a thank you vase to you all. In a vase on Monday – Spoilt for choice

The cut flower beds are producing a lot of blooms but that is a good thing as it is so hot now that even the cut flowers don’t last very long.  I picked my flowers early this morning but then was busy trying to complete some tasks outside, make apricot jam, tie in tomatoes, etc, etc, and all before it became to hot.  Because I left it so late I had trouble finding somewhere shady to photograph my vase for Cathy at  Rambling in the Garden.
