In a vase on Monday – more Blue and White plus a gift bouquet

Cathy at Rambling in the garden hosts the best meme in the blogosphere (well I think so anyway!) challenges us every Monday to pick flowers from our gardens and put them in a vase to enjoy in our homes.  I’m going to be out for much of Monday so I prepared my vase on Sunday. Continue reading

In a vase on Monday – a little bit of this and a little bit of that

This past weekend has been glorious; sunshine that was actually warm; too hot for a fleece!  I weeded and tidied the evergreen shrub beds and while doing so discovered the shoots of tulips pushing through the earth.  I think the tulips in the garden will flower earlier this year because they have had their period of chilling before Christmas rather than having to wait for January and February.  But sadly no tulips yet for my vase although next week – maybe. In a vase on Monday – Homage to autumn

Having been in the UK for 2 weeks I returned last Sunday only to awake on Monday with fully blown flu!  I did venture out last Monday and di find a few flowers to pick but in the end felt too ill even to arrange them.

Plans for flowers to celebrate the New Year also failed to materialize as one thing after another was cancelled.  But at least I’d improved enough to host a lunch party yesterday. Continue reading
